When steel construction is mentioned, giant factories usually come to mind. However, the most elegant and delicate form of steel occurs in restorations of historical monuments. As Mak Çelik, we are proud to take part in world heritage projects such as Sumela Monastery and Patara Ancient City.
1. Industrial Solutions in Challenging Geographies Working on structures built on steep cliffs, such as the Sumela Monastery, requires much more than a standard construction process. Thanks to our engineering calculations combined with industrial mountaineering techniques, we build steel barriers and protection shields at points that seem impossible to reach.
2. "Recyclable" Intervention That Does Not Damage History According to the restoration principles, additions to the historical structure should be able to be removed when desired without damaging the structure. Steel is the material most suitable for this principle, thanks to its screwed and modular structure. We design "steel umbrellas" or "reinforcement cages" that protect the historical fabric from external influences without placing a burden on it.
3. Aesthetics and Durability Together We use special alloy and corrosion-resistant materials that provide maximum security against natural conditions (rockfall, wind, etc.) without damaging the aesthetics of the historical texture.
